Scholarships

Thoughts so far :

• In order to reach the goals of having more classroom teachers attend, we hope to offer special scholarships to teachers specifically in which they have to apply for with an inspirational/motivational story about how they use or would like to use marine science in their classrooms.
• We would also provide teachers with special programs during with they can connect and share their stories, share their experiences and ideas throughout the conference, and possibly create some lessons and activities that they can then use in their classrooms with their students.
• GOMMEA can then share their stories on the website, publish any activities/lessons they create, and provide them with a blog in which they can stay in contact and share ideas and resources with each other and with other teachers interested in incorporating marine science into their classrooms.
• More ideas regarding how to reach this audience and how or where to get scholarship funds for this audience are welcome.
• Also welcome, are ideas about how to cater to teachers during the conference so that we can make this a beneficial and great experience for them.
